Eco-Friendly Construction

Sustainable Future, founded by Narayan Acharya in Nepal, promotes eco-friendly construction using rammed earth technology, an ancient method adapted for modern needs. The company sources clay, sand, stone, and soil locally, minimizing environmental impact and creating jobs by avoiding machinery. These thick-walled homes naturally regulate temperature, staying cool in summer and warm in winter. Despite challenges like labor shortages and low public awareness, Sustainable Future completes three to four projects yearly, adhering to New Zealand’s building standards for durability. Their structures proved earthquake-resistant in 2015, strengthening trust in this sustainable approach. Acharya, trained in permaculture and green building in the UK, aims to expand awareness and transfer this knowledge to younger generations.
